Azure Site Recovery (ASR)
Azure Site Recovery is a Cloud-driven, highly innovative, and automated disaster recovery solution (DRaaS).
A modern and economically best site recovery solution!
Every company needs to adopt a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) strategy that keeps its apps and workloads safe and running on cloud, in case of planned and unplanned outages.
Azure Site Recovery is a cloud-based Disaster Recovery (DRaaS) solution. It uses cloud technologies to protect applications and data from the disruption caused by the disaster, allowing the full continuity of the work environment within minutes of the system failure. This is possible by implementing a continuous replication to cloud datacenter, performing regular testing, and defining the right processes for a disaster recovery.
Azure Site Recovery
Benefits at a glance

Azure Site Recovery offers immediate system failover to a secondary infrastructure within minutes with easy failback capabilities.

ASR eliminates the need of maintaining a costly secondary datacentre. All the servers (VMs) on cloud remain in shutdown state unless required, hence, saving a lot of money.

ASR offers reduced Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) to meet the business requirement. Recover in as low as 5 minutes with all your data on cloud already.

It’s a dangerous situation to have a Disaster Recovery solution in place that doesn’t work. ASR make it really easy to test failover and failback without any disruption.

With its advanced features-set you can customize your recovery plan and select the workloads that you would like to be safe and running at the time of disaster.

All the data is encrypted while in replication and at rest. With the latest and most advanced security tools employed by Microsoft, you don’t have to worry about your data.

Real world Functions
In-house Datacentre Destruction
This scenario is rare but can happen when natural disasters (Earthquake, Flood, Cyclone) or issues like electrical surges, operational failures occur. Prepare your business for recovery from such disasters by storing copies of your data offsite and pre-built machines ready to takeover in case of any system failure.
Cross-Cloud Disaster Recovery
You can take advantage of using not one but multiple world leading cloud platform at the same time. For instance, you can run your production on AWS and setup DR on Azure and vice-versa, thereby having the two best platforms in the world working for your business continuity hand in hand.
Hardware Failure
With improper maintenance of your hard drives, servers, desktops, and other devices on a regular basis, the IT’s working is put to a risk of failure. With a DR Plan in place, you can be sure that your business is always functional and will continue without any issue no matter how much time it takes for your on-premises system to kick back in.
We make sure that you are fully focused on your business without a single concern of IT. Let us take away the worries which do not bring you more business, so that, you can go out and do more.

FAQs
Brief list of FAQs about ASR
Azure Site Recovery provides continuous replication for Azure VMs and VMware VMs, and replication frequency as low as 30 seconds for Hyper-V. You can reduce RTO further by integrating with Azure Traffic Manager.
Yes, failover and administration of disaster recovery of all branches is possible from your head office as workloads of all branches can be viewed form a central location.
It is recommended to use managed disks as the target storage for your machines. Managed disks only support LRS type for data resiliency.
